Projects

SEC Projects are collaborations between SEC and off-campus partners to address real-world issues and allow students to gain hands-on technical experience. SEC Projects offer a collaborative group work environment between participants and 1-2 team leads. This affords a low barrier to entry, a structured learning process, and mentorship opportunities for students with less incoming experience. SEC organizes two project cohorts per year; each project culminates in a formal seminar event, during which all teams will present the results of their respective projects. The event will be attended by Stanford students, faculty, and representatives from all project partner companies, providing each team a large platform for sharing their findings. We will hold two such events: once at the end of Winter quarter in March and once at the end of the school year in June.

Cohort 1 projects span the full duration of Stanford’s Winter term after Week 1, starting January 15th and running until a final seminar event during the week of March 11th. Click here to learn more about Cohort 1!

Cohort 2 projects span the full duration of Stanford’s Spring term after Week 1, starting April 8th and running until a final seminar event during the week of June 3rd. Official projects are currently tentative for Cohort 2, and will be announced by early February.
